About the Teacher

My name is Deep Majlani, and my journey into Yog didn’t start in a studio. It started when I was feeling lost.

Years ago, I walked away from a standard education because it didn’t feel right for me. I was distracted, surrounded by the wrong environment, and looking for success in the wrong places. I tried different jobs and even started a small food business, but it ended in a lot of stress and failure. I was searching for something, but I didn’t know what it was.

That search eventually took me toward the mountains. I have always felt a deep pull toward the Himalayas, and it was there, surrounded by that scale of nature, that I truly discovered Yog.

At that time, my life felt heavy with the stress of failed businesses and the wrong decisions. But in the mountains, things became simple. I realized that Yog wasn’t just a physical workout or a way to get flexible; it was a way to create order when everything else felt like chaos.

Living simply in the high altitudes, I started to see how the discipline of a practice could quiet a restless mind. For the first time, I felt a sense of peace that wasn’t coming from outside success, but from within. This wasn’t a “holiday” discovery—it was a turning point.

Finding the Path I never planned to teach. I was just a student trying to heal my own body and mind. My training wasn’t a quick certificate; it was a long, difficult road of years of study. I was very lucky to be guided by amazing senior teachers who were direct students of B.K.S. Iyengar. They showed me that Yog is a serious discipline that requires honesty and hard work. Following their guidance, I learned how to use alignment and precision to stay safe and steady.

How I Travel and Learn Today, my life is divided between the city and the mountains, especially Ladakh in the summers. My love for travel has changed. I don’t do “trips” or bring the fast-paced city mind to the places I visit. I stay for a long time. I live the local life and learn from the wisdom and sustainable ways of the people there. This quiet, simple way of living is what I bring back to my teaching.

My Approach When you practice with me, you’ll find a calm and supportive space. Because of my background, I care a lot about precision and using tools (props) so you don’t get hurt. I don’t care about “perfect” poses—I care about you being present and safe.

Whether we meet in person or online, my goal is to help you build a practice that is steady and real. Yog helped me find my way when I was lost, and through Deep On Yog, I hope to help you find that same stability and clarity in your own life.
